Every day we continue to be amazed at the support we are getting. It really is beyond our wildest dreams. Many people have contributed to Jill's Samsung Tablet, which I am guessing she will use some starting today.
We are going to get our first meal this Wednesday evening.
We are in the process of figuring out how to best coordinate all the offers of dinner and other help and will have something in place soon. This should make it easier for those who want to help. And it should make it easier on us as well.
On a personal note (again, this is Greg typing this) - I appreciate all the kind words about my posts and this blog in general. I am struggling internally hoping I can live up to the hype I have already received. Jill has always been the much better person of us two and has always been the selfless one. Me taking care of her and the family as needed will be a change for me and I know I will bad days where I struggle. If you could pray for me such that I can be strong and put the family ahead of my own life., that would mean a lot to me.
Greg--you can do it and what you can't do, we will.
ReplyDeleteYou got it Greg!
ReplyDeleteYour family remains in my prayers and will continue to be. We don't always understand why the Lord does or allows certain circumstances to happen. I personally cling to the fact that He never give us more that we can handle, while it does certainly stretch us and cause pain. Jill/Greg and family - hang in there because I'm certain that He has ever bigger plans for you yet!
ReplyDeleteLifting you up in prayer, Greg! I've used 2 meal planning websites mealbaby.com and carecalendar.org - they've both worked well - I'm sure there's others, too. Holding you all close!
ReplyDeleteNancy (Shannon's mom)
We're all here for you guys! Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI think both of you are pretty amazing. We're all behind you.
ReplyDeleteGreg, you are doing an amazing job so far and yes tougher days are ahead for you and for Jill but you both are strong individuals and have awesome families thank goodness, just remember you are in many people's prayers and hopefully it will ease the difficult times.... A little.... I think about you guys everyday since I first found out and while i cant do much down here i can write and talk.... And always pray....for all of you!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to take a deep breath....
Greg, you are doing a fantastic job. God has already given you more strength than you thought you had. He will continue to give you and Jill what is needed to carry you through. Give yourself more credit! You wrote "one day at a time" under the blog name. That motto carried Craig and I through a rough year of cancer last year. I even tattooed it on my shoulder when our journey was completed. You and Jill obviously have a strong backbone of friends and family! Be strong for Jill and the kids, but you don't have to always be strong for your friends and family. God put us all here for you to have! Much love to you both. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteHey Greg and Jill -
ReplyDeleteI think there is a website - www.foodtidings.com - that helps organize meal schedules............ just a thought so you don't have to try and do this on your own!!!!!
Thinking of you always......
Greg and Jill-
ReplyDeleteI have used Food Tidings before to help organize meals for a friend of mine and it is really quick and easy to set-up. The nice thing about is that you can include foods you and the kids do/do not like to eat as well as delivery instructions (ie. If Jill is resting, there will be a cooler on the front porch for you to place the food.) It also allows people to write in what they plan to bring so that you do not have a lot of duplication. Check it out! http://www.foodtidings.com/
Hope to see Jill tonight :)
Your hysterical sense of humor will be great medicine during this time Greg!
ReplyDeleteWe are all behind you Greg. Ano once again thank you for the gift of this blog.
